Hey guys. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get the Ultrasone hfi 580 headphones but the only thing that concerns me is the comfort of them. I currently own the sennheiser hd 280 pros and they can be a little uncomfortable at times. After reading a bunch of reviews of both, it seems like more people complain about the 280 pros being uncomfortable compared to the hfi 580s.

Anyhow, if anyone has had first hand experience regarding the comfort of these two headphones, I would greatly enjoy your thoughts. Thanks a bunch!

I had 580s a while. They aren't most comfortable headphones but not uncomfortable IMO. Pads are kinda hard and thats why isolate very well. I switched them to 2400s which are much more comfortable because of velour. But you can buy velour pads for 580s too. If open headphone isn't problem I recommend 2400 over 580.

I've had a friend with some lower Ultrasones and the pads were kind of uncomfortable and the headband didn't extend fully. I have my HD 598's now and they are as comfortable as the Beyers. Keep in mind, I haven't tried the HFI 580's but that's my two cents.

I don't know about the Ultrasone's, but I do own a pair of HD280's and I can say that the comfort isn't very good. They aren't terrible, I've worn worse, but these weren't really wearable for me for much more than 30 minutes or so. Sometimes not even that much. On top of that, I wasn't too thrilled about their sound, but that's beside the point of this thread.
