I want to buy an amp. just to further power these babies. I don't want to go ALL out. im just looking for sumthing in the 150-200 dollar range. I generally will be using these @ my computer, through my soundcard (Hercules Game Theater) But i do want the portability(if possibly in that range)

thanks

Hiya.. Congrats on your purchase with the Senns.. I hope you enjoy them. I think you could easily pick up a used or new Meta42 amp within your budget that would meet your requirements. If you want to up the ante a bit a used MG Head would probably be your best bet to make those things sing. I haven't heard the combo myself but I hear its a great match. Currently I'm using a vintage Marantz receiver and it drives them pretty well. Only costed me about $65 bucks and a decent Mini -> RCA cable will run you about $20-30..but thats if you decide not to go with portability.. Hope you match those senns with something nice.. I even used a Cha47 with them for a while and it drove them to a sufficient level.

I bought a Meta 42 from JMT, and couldnt be happier with it. It's nicve and small, very portable, and the sound? Awesome, clear, and loud! NP powering the HD-570's with one of them at all.

Hi,
I would get a Meta42 amp. I've great experience with my Meta42 and the HD-580. Since the Senn HD-580 is laidback, you might want to choose the AD8620 for more snap. You should contact JMT, KurtW, and Tangent to make you one. I hope this help.

look in the gear for sale ...my meta42 and m-audio revo is a great combo ... get the opamp ad8620 ..i heard the opamp 843 brings out more detail but the 8620 is smoother...

I would also second the META-42 for portablility it works very well with my 580's. If you want something a little more hefty you can't go wrong with the Gillmore V2 from Headamp.com. Now that beast really fills out the 580s!

I don't know about the 8620, but I recently upgraded my op amp from the AD823 to the AD843KN. The 843 was much smoother, yet managed to be not laid back. And the bass...OH the BASS! Sometimes I feel that I have a subwoofer strapped to my head
