I wonder if anyone has any reviews or opinions on the ZY or Dowin Senn cables from Head-direct, they seem like a good deal but that tends to mean they aren't very good. Just wanted some feedback from you guys.

I have not personally heard them, but the general consensus was that a cable that cheap couldn't be so great quality. I mean, the senn v2 cables are twice as expensive and they aren't over the top by any means. Save up for a cardas, or find one here. I got mine for only $100 used. they are great cables.

I bought one of the ZY's so that I could use my 650's with my iPod every now and then when I'm listening to a reasonably good audio quality podcast around the house and I don't want to string along miles of cable. Having used it for a few weeks now it is made up from good quality components considering the price, however the 3.5 mini jack tends to loose contact frequently - which pauses the ipod - plus the left hand channel doesn't make a very solid contact with the 650's, at least nothing like the quality of Sennheisers original cable... now if I could just get a 650 cable chopped down to 4 odd foot in length.

Would I want my money back - well considering how little it cost it would maybe cost me more sending it back, but imho the ZY cable at least is a nice idea spoiled by sloppy execution on the work bench.

I am half tempted to just rip apart an old 650 cable and get some canare cable, a mini plug and make my own. I just need to figure out how to cut into the plugs without destroying them.
