I'm looking for recommendations of either red book CDs or SACDs which are of particularly exceptional recording quality regardless of music genre...The reason I'm looking into replacing my old CDs which I've been using to gauge how well my system performs such as headphones, amps, players, speakers etc.

I would suggest getting Tchaikovsky - 1812 on Telarc (2001), this was made as their statement recording, which is saying a lot since they are a audiophile label!

Recent recording done completely in DSD format all the way to the disk.

Thanks for the recommendations...the Telarc 1812 SACD is already at the top of my to get list and i will add the Hillary Hahn SACD and Jennifer Warnes CDs...
