I'm looking for recommendations of either red book CDs or SACDs which are of particularly exceptional recording quality regardless of music genre...The reason I'm looking into replacing my old CDs which I've been using to gauge how well my system performs such as headphones, amps, players, speakers etc.
Thank You

Brahms - Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major, Op.77
Stravinsky - Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D

featuring Hilary Hahn, released in SACD format by Sony.

Recent recording done completely in DSD format all the way to the disk.

This thing is amazing!

Jennifer Warnes -- "Famous Blue Raincoat"
"The Hunter"

Both very well engineered and she has a great voice.

A source of top quality recordings can also be obtained from Sheffield Lab. They have quality vinyl as well as Cds
