I'm currently using MG Head and looking to upgrade. Considering RKV, Wheatfield, EarMax, but Antique Sound Labs Twin Head looks really nice. If you have experience with this amp I would love to hear from you. I like the fact that it has remote and is also a preamp. I'm using HD600/Cardas. Thanks.

I've had a Twinhead for a while and it sounded great. Very powerful and great detail. Joe Lau of ASL has been working on a re-design that includes fixing the hum issues with the design, eliminating the need for the filter at the output, and also separating the power-supply. In the future, the power-supply will be separately up-gradable to further improve performance.

I think he's trying to get the new design ready for CES (in a little over a week), but might not finish in time. I know he will have the OTL32 available at the show. The OTL32 is another fine-sounding amp that can drive both high impedence (including K1000s for which it has a dedicated jack) and low impedence headphones (down to 32ohms). As of the Twinhead that I had, the OTL has better bass (with R10s), but not as much detail. The Twinhead takes two 2A3 and two 6DJ8 tubes. The OTL32 uses two 12AU7 and four 6BQ5 tubes for those interested.

Am listening to the OTL32 and new A Love Supreme SACD... in headphone heaven...

I had just Finished the Final Test of New Twin Head.

Hum problem - All Fixed : I had test it with Grado SR125 , Beyerdynamic DT931, Victor HP-D310 and AKG1000. All Cans don't have any Hum and Hiss.

AKG1000 - It can drive to have fuller bass , good mid & high but only in reasonable level. I try to modify it to have higher output to drive it better.

Joe

I got to hear an earlier revision of the Twin Head at a previous Dallas meeting when Divergent had loaned one to Nick Dangerous. I still consider it one of the best amps available.

I have only two quick questions:

1. When/where will I get to audition one again?

2. Is Divergent (in Canada) still the only place people in the United States can order one?
