Hi,

I'm in the market for a new MP3 player. Previously, I had a Sansa SanDisk player (I think that it was the e260), and I was happy w/ it. I've done quite a bit of research into available players, yet I'm still undecided. I have a list of specifics that I'm looking for.

1. I'd like something that has at least 8GB of internal storage, although some players I've seen have no internal storage, yet are capable of managing rather large microSDHC/microSDXHC cards. However, my experience w/ these cards is not great, as they tend to go bad for no reason quite quickly.

2. I definitely want an FM receiver (preferably an AM receiver, too), and I'd like to find a player w/ the built-in functionality of being an FM transmitter, as well, so I can use it in my car.

3. I'd prefer for the player to play a variety of file types, but I suppose that .mp3 and .ogg are the most important.

4. I'd also like to find a player capable of handling drag-and-drop functionality (or Windows Media Player or Media Monkey at worst). I'd really prefer not to have to install proprietary software in order to transfer files to the device.

5. I'd prefer not to spend a ton of money on this.

6. I don't do Apple, so all of their products are off the table.

Any suggestions/help anyone would be willing to offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Jeff

Thank you for the link, hqssui. I've never heard of the Benjie players, but I had looked at the AGPTEK. They appeared to be some of the lowest priced units on the market. I should clarify that I'm willing to spend up to $100-$150 for the right player. I should also mention that I mostly plan on using this in the gym, as well as my car, so something on the more compact side would be ideal.

The only other player I know of which has a FM radio is Cowon M2. It has a dedicated thread here
