I had an ipod mini, second generation that recently broke. I wanted to see how you guys describe the sound signature, warm or cold? The reason is I am seeking to get another ipod and I need one that has a similar sound signature as the second generation mini. The current nano seemed kind of warm and almost veiled with my phones(ATH-ES7). Also, if you guys know current ipods out that have a similar sound signature as the mini, please list them.

IIRC, the iPod mini wasn't exactly rated very highly for sound quality. I haven't listened a mini in years, but I do believe the new iPods sound better than the older ones in general (apart form the 1g shuffle and 5/5.5g video iPods which are still rated very highly). You might want to try the current generation iPod touch...its supposed to have better sound quality than the current generation nano. Out of the iPods I've used, its the one I like most.
