Hi,
I've been using Shure E2C for quite a while now and for the price i liked them. The only thing I didn't like were the tips, so I bought the Earsafe earplugs and used that silicon tips.

At home I'm using Alessandro MS1 and I like them too. But the Shure are a little bit to muddy and the MS1 are a little bit to bright, but I Like the detail very much, so something in between these two would be very nice, more in the direction of the MS1.

Which IEMs should I get? Is it worth to purchase something like UE5 or should I get some with universal fitting? I'm using them for several hours a day.

I would like to read some answers

Hi,
ok, news from me

after one and a half year the cable of my shures got a cable break near the jack, so I'll have to fix it. My silicon tips also need to be replaced

.

BUT,
as you've read above, I'm also considering new IEMs, but now I'm more sure what to get. Custom IEMs are to expensive for me. I can spend up to 300€. And so the super.fi5 and the shure e4 come to my mind.

I wrote that I liked the e2 but I would like to have more details and a little bit more detailed and not so boomy bass. Something in between the e2 and my MS1. From what I've read here the e4 might be the better choice for me but I would like to know if there are any other ones which might fit better in here.

oh and another question, with my e2 I couldn't use the silicon tips which were supplied the grey ones, I could not get a good seal and they glided out of my ear. I then bought the music safe earplugs and used that tips, what about the triflanges which are supplied with the e4 are they any good?

your options are probably um2's, superfi5 pro's or e4's.

The um2's and superfi5's are a bit bassheavy so the e4's look like a good choice. They have planty of detail but some say it's more analytical then 'fun'.

Personnaly i'm using the um1's and i can say that they aren't as bright as my MS1. Yet they aren't very muddy.

As for the tips, It's for me very hard to get a good seal with the shure tips. Triflanges and foamies have a better fit IMO (right now i'm using biflanges)
