I began my search for a quality set of Ear/Head phones because due to some hearing loss I was finding myself having to leave my iPod on Max to ever hear anything on those tiny white buds. I was Originally looking at the Shure SE110 and Sennheiser CX300 then got told about the V-moda Vibes and Audio-Technica ATH-CK7.

I have begun thinking that for less money I can get more Phone out of Headphones rather that in-ear or buds.

I listen to mostly Rock, Metal and Podcasts on my iPod Nano. I am not into booming bass and would like a natural balanced sound that puts vocals up front.

Any recommendations in the 150$ and under range?

the sennheiser CX300s are really lacking in any kind of detail, bass takes over most of the frequency range. unless that is what you are looking for, id advise against it considering all the other headphones/canal phones youre considering
