Does getting the 770s screened help to bring out the mids and make them more suitable for a variety of music as opposed to gaming, rap, and movies. Are they the best of both worlds, open and closed? Thanks.

I'm not a writer, but I absolutely love my screened 770s. They're more "open", the difference between indoors and out, with the plugs out. The black max cable + the wooden cups makes more of a difference than the screens open or plugged, but the sound is definitely smoother post mod than it was pre. I think that these sound good with anything you can throw at them. The only thing to consider is when you're done, you have $425 $150 headphones

.

I have a pair of RS1s on order that I'll compare them with shortly...

grawk,
How secure are the plugs when moving around with the Beyers... say, walking with an iPod? I'm thinking of getting the DT770 w/screens.

I don't have and have never had dt990s...

The plugs are secure. They aren't going to go anywhere unless you pull them out intentionally. That said, I haven't gone any significant distance wearing my 770s...I sit in my chair in my office with them on.

Does it isolate as well as it did before the mod? Thanks grawk.
