An elecrostatic amp too, but HeadAmp stopped building those a long time ago. You can only get one used now - you'd have to make an unrefuseable offer to a current owner in order to get one now!

I think if you offered $10K to a current Aristaeus owner, that would probably count as an unrefuseable offer.

A limited edition (12 units if I remember correctly) electrostatic headphone amplifier made by HeadAmp in 2006.

Couple of pictures (not mine..).

Nah, I wouldn't let mine go for $10K!

Headamp was making Blue Hawaii's and KGSS's long before that amp was released.

This is totally off topic, but did I see in your signature that you're running a K1000 from a Pico

I thought those things were total wattage hogs...

Is it a better deal at $10,000 than an ES-2 at $20,000?

i believe the Aristaeus sold for $4500 when it first came out and took more than a year to build. i have never heard one. definitely on my list though of amps to hear. from all accounts it is supremely excellent. not sure how it compares to an ES1 or ES2. that would be an interesting comparison.

This thread could use another pic of the Aristaeus.

Personally I'd rather spring for the $20K ES-2 if I could afford it. Once you see the amp in person, it creates a feeling of intense admiration. Pure wood on aluminum is something to really behold.

Heck I might as well post my pics of the ES-2 while we're talking about it!

Well, my next purchase over $20,000 is going to be a car for my wife.

For TV's and audiophile equipment I have a personal "I just threw up in my mouth" limit of about $1,000-2,000 for any one item
