Is anyone here using the new UFO Dac from Scott Nixon. He has two models, one with jfets and the second with tubes. Thanks.

It is pretty popular on Audio Circle. It does direct IS2 connection, and supposedly sounds great. Might want to check over there for reviews.

I am interested as well. I own two of his DACs, and for the money, they are a great deal. Scott is real easy to talk to and readily available to answer any questions. Anyone know who he subcontracts for? He mentioned that he does work for some well known company but wouldn't elaborate.

For a tube dac it´s really looks bad. Nothing like aParadisea.

I would like to purchase the USB.UFO.JF. It´s use JFETbuffer instead of a tube buffer stage. So i can hide somewhere under.

And it´s possible to run it a SLA power supply. Good for a trip and smaller than a Micro DAC.

The USB.UFO.JF is the cheapest DAC of Scott Nixon´s current Line-Up. Hope it´ll don´t sound much worser.

I just bought a Scott Nixon USB DACkit powered by an SLA battery assembeled by someone on diyaudio.com.
I am using it to power my Senn Hd580 directly through the RCA out. The volume level is perfect and i am seriously thinking about parting with my Headsave Classic.

The sound is phenomenal for the price. The added user friendliness of a USB is just another great feature on the scott nixon DAC.

Now, all i need is to find a proper enclosure for the DAC

Does anyone else use their headphones directly out of their CDP or DACs RCA out??

The paralel out from DACs like the Benchmark DAC1 or Apogee Mini-DAC gets used fo it by many head-fiers.

But it should be an impedance missmatch.
