Another SchiitShow? Yes. And after this one, desktop audio may never be the same. We’re introducing a new product that is a real rule-breaker…and potentially a big game-changer.

I can’t say much, other than to say that if you thought this morning’s announcement of Modi Multibit was cool, you haven’t seen anything yet. It’s time to go beyond “2s” and “3s” and “Ubers.” It’s time for radical rethinking. It’s time for something completely new. We think it's going to make one entire category of products look, well...very last-decade.

(Of course, we’ve been wrong before, so if that’s the case, we have free food and giveaways and stuff.)

I am super curious if I should be reconsidering what is on my short list of an end game solid state amp. Or even a tube that works well with planars and low impedance headphones.

VERY curious.

Especially considering he mentioned an "entire category" of products look dated. How would that be done with the brand new release of a modi multi bit. It cant be DACs...Hope not!

We would have to be complete idiots to mess with our DAC line now. And while we do have our screwups, we ain't that dumb.

figured so.

YESSS!!! and knowing you guys, once the cat is out the bag it is ready for purchase. You like to put stuff on the shelves before release.... You are probably just as equally excited to use some of that warehouse space as you are to reveal the new product.

I'll be there. I'm hoping you have some goodies to show for your higher end customers.

I'm hoping to hear an Yggdrasil in person (finally).
I have a sneaky suspicion that if I do, I will and stuff a wad of cash into Jason's hands and haul it home with me!

I'll be bringing my LCD-3's with me for a personal audition.

I'll have a guess that it's something along the lines of a "direct digital amp" (i.e. no dac required, just straight digital into a class D amp)????

Pretty sure Jason has previously expressed strong (negative) opinions of that sort of device, but I could always be wrong :)

I'm wondering if this has any implications for the Yggdrasil that I ordered of 10 days ago. I guess that I'll wait an see.

I seriously doubt that, as Jason seems to have made it pretty clear that the Modi release is the only thing changing about the DACs...although on some level, I sort of hope it's something way outside my price range like the Yggy to stave off upgrade temptation!
