I noticed that the Schiit Magni 3 has some distortion during the first 30s after startup. My regular setup, using the Schiit Bifrost 4490 as a DAC, uses the HeadRoom BUDA as an amp and I've never heard this before with it. Stranger yet after 30s I restarted the Magni 3 and the distortion is gone regardless of gain setting.

Could it be DC getting to the driver? I'm listening via the HiFiMAN HE-400i which I've never had a problem with and hear no distortion once it clears or from other amps.

Ideas?

Here is the track:

Nevermind figured it out.

FYI

Do not split the signal from your DAC using just a spitter. My BUDA is sending slight EMI back through the interconnects into the MAGNI. Tested it several times. No distortion with the split interconnects disconnected be it high or low gain.

The only issue I have with the Magni 3 is the very slight channel imbalance at really low volumes ( below listening levels ). Other than that is sounds super close the BUDA if not identical. The bass control is excellent and not heard from in many amps be it $99 or $1000.
