Looking for a good amp+dac that can accept audio over usb from my smartphone. I have a headroom micro amp/dac stack for my desk but I need something for the bedroom. My hardest headphones to drive are probably the mr. speakers AEON, also have an hd800 and akg q701 that need some power. The Schiit is almost twice as expensive with the DAC module, and the specs do say it puts out almost twice the power. Any comparison between the two, is the Schiit a lot better?

Was also considering the LH geek out 2 pro infinity, since it's in the same price range and is portable, but not sure how much of a compromise it would be sound-wise, and it's about the same as the jotunheim.

Thanks.

I think comparing the two is almost unfair to a extent. Yes its obvious the Jotunheim has much more power than a 02 but they are two different beasts. But the differences even differ from there, the Jot has balanced input and output not to mention can act as a preamp as well. If all you are wondering is if the 02 can drive it high enough your answer is yes it can but not like a Jot can without all the distortion and better sound. If you are thinking in terms of just amp for your phones go for a magni uber still much more power than 02 without the Jot price. To mention you have hd800 or AEON being able to use them as a balanced amp of course you will be more happy with Jot. I think you need to keep thinking what you actually want, decent amp for casual listening or all around great balanced amp with better sound and power. The price difference is for you to decide friend, don't know if this helps at all lol.
