It is taught on marketing courses that a large percentage of BMW's ads are not to persuade folks to buy, but to reassure recent purchasers that the made a good decision....
I haven’t seen any BMW ads lately but I sure am happy with my purchase. Makes me smile every time I step on the throttle going around a corner. 😁

What do people think of Zu Audio speakers?
Specifically the Dirty Weekend 6 that went on sale today?
$1599 + $299 [natural hickory] + $499 [Superfly upgrades]

I would pair with Ragnarok 2 (+/- Tyr amps in future).
And Yggdrasil v2 DAC.
Despite a lot of gear, I have never owned high end speakers.
I wouldn’t consider these high end. But new, value oriented full(-ish) range speakers.
They would replace KEF LS50’s, which would move to one of my office near field locations.
I also have a 7.1 home theater with nice looking, but likely “good” value speakers from the 2008 era now bankrupt av123 company.
Which AV123 speakers?

I would never do that. Nope, never. Mostly.

I've been a 2-channel guy for a decade or four, but only got into headphones about 5 years ago. The Vali 2 was the first HP amp I bought. Price? $149. And here we are almost 5 years later, and despite the cost of everything spiraling out of control lately (not to mention normal inflation for the other 4 years), the Vali 2 is still $149. That's pretty damn commendable in my book. The fact it's an absolute killer amp for the money is more than icing on the cake, it's the cake too. Maybe I just have a place in my heart for the Vali because it was my first HP amp. But that would require me to have a heart, so scratch that.

I made you something....😉

Working on an advanced model too...! Once installed, we'll call you Pinocchio. 🤥

Don't forget about Tekton... their prices haven't doubled

If it wasn't for HeadFi I probably wouldn't have got into the hobby the way I have ... I wouldn't have known where to start. Great people on this site ... very generous with their time.

Here, in rural France, we are a 'hotbed' for French wine ... that's definitely what my friends are into !!
These two things can be perfectly combined. It is a proven fact that your audio system sounds better after a glass of wine.

Better a nice Fleurie then....
I'm more of a Bergerac Pecharmant or Languedoc/Roussillon wine area type of person ... good Bordeaux is over-priced ... good Burgundy similar

After all these posts about CD's sounding better. I have to ask / comment.

A. What is your streaming service?
B. What input/output are you using for A the CD, B for streaming?
I would add another question
C. Are the CD and the stream from the same source/master?

Hi Paladin - ah you fall into my notion of a music lover -perhaps a new group maybe I will call it - The Kit custodians - my first Tube amp was a Rogers Cadet 3 bought in a junk store for £5.00 in1985 - had it for years with a pair of AR18 spkrs - and my dads old AR XB1 turntable - not loud but lovely !!!
We have the Schiit Sine (TM) ... perhaps we now need some Schiit Venn (also TM)
