Pi2AES continues to be made in batches, but they sell out and it is backordered most of the time.

The new Mercury streamer has AES. I've never heard of a Pi2AES Lite and there isn't one on the Pi2 Design site.

In the last update he said it is being announced later this week. Also said he is not opening regular AES orders back up.

I know about the mercury but don't want to pay a 400 dollar premium to run the same system I have on a pi4.

Which is why I was curious about AES on future Gungnirs..

I hope it's not too political thing to say here, but I'm happy to share that we just dropped in our Nato-application with our Swedish brothers today. In the evening I'll pop open a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate the occasion, and I'll take recommendations for US whiskeys, bourbons, etc. for when we become official members.

My recommendation is to stick with the goods from Scotland. :smile_cat:

Most of you may know this by now but Onkyo as such is no more. The name should live on but it will not be the same company that was founded in 1946. I own one of their 7.2 surround sound receivers. Years ago I owned a Denki Onkyo reel to reel as well, early seventies vintage.

That might (to a tiny part) be my fault, I'm afraid to say. A little while ago, when I was researching gear to upgrade my living room system, they were up top on my list. But about a day or so before I hit "buy", I discovered that Schiit exists…
(True story.)

Yep those one or two sales they missed did them in. Honestly, lack of diversity of product hurt them in IMHO.

Now here is a product.....

But you would have to move the cat bed, this amp is not going to fit on most shelves.

Has anyone directly compared the Schiit Fulla 3, with the Fulla 4?

I have a strong inkling that this stuff falls into the category of "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." :scream:

As much as I like my Bifrost 2's sound signature, it really doesn't image all that well. It has the most closed-in sounding sound stage of all the DACs that I own.
By which I mean to say: Bifrost isn't the best DAC to judge multibit by. My Gumby and Yggy OG both blow Bifrost (as well as Modius and other DS DACs) completely out the water in absolute all aspects.
Yes, Yggy OG is a steeeeeeeep step up in price compared to Bifrost, but oh my god, it is so worth it. As far as Schiit power amps and DACs are concerned, the law of diminishing returns does not apply.
I currently have a Bifrost and so far it’s the best I’ve heard, but it’s also the most expensive DAC I’ve heard. Now that Folkvangr is upon the horizon I’m thinking of getting it and maybe also upgrade to a Gumby in the process.
I’ve however been hesitant towards the Gumby because price and would it really be that big of an upgrade. Your thoughts about Gumby vs Bifrost sounds very promising though and makes me lean towards upgrading :)

I think I have read somewhere that Gumby would have a somewhat “leaner” sound than the Bifrost (and Yggy) with regard to bass slam etc. Having heard all of them, would you say there is any truth to this?
