Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

While we're at it… Has anyone a favorite 6SN7 (or compatible) for their Freya? Apart from the semi-ubiquitous Russian Tung-Sol 6SN7GTBs and the JJ 6SN7s, I mean?
I've tried Electro Harmonix Gold Pins, Tung Sols, some vintage GE and Sylvanias. Currently have a pair of PSVane T-II in the gain portion.

While the Sylvanias are very punchy and sound pretty good, the ones I have are microphonic, which is unfortunate.

BTW, there's a whole thread devoted to 6SN7s here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-reference-6sn7-thread.117677/

IMHO ALL tubes (valves) are microphonic, only the level it occurs varies. YMMV

Interesting promo video from Western Electric.

Did anyone check out the price for a pair of Western Electrics 300B Monoblocks. Craziness. Makes their tubes look as cheap as popcorn by comparison.

Some of their cable looks interesting.

Maybe Schiit wants to make a 300B amp that doesnt cost as much as a nice used car, or a new Tesla, like some of the 300B equipment out there.

Is the market for 300Bs really that limited?
It's a niche among audiophiles, which is a niche among headphone users, which is a niche among users of stand-alone music systems, which is a niche among consumer electronics buyers. So a small market. But I might buy one because I'm a niche-y kind of guy. :)

I'd love to see a Schiit tube speaker amp (10w x2 into 8 ohms), and I don't really care what tubes they would use. :p

Jason might do it if he gets bored. I don't see him getting bored enough in the foreseeable future though
Well he did make that specialized Jotunheim for RAAL ribbon headphones, which cannot have sold very many units as I am willing to bet not that many people own the headphones. :)

Stiil, I hope the RAAL serve as a catalyst for other ribbon headphones. I miss my Apogees. No, the new DCA won't satisfy that craving for me for the same reason the RAAL do not.

True, but the fact that there is the Jotunheim R has made me think about the RAALs a few times. Just need to save long enough and not get distracted by other shiny things.
