@bcowen I just came across this beast of an amp. You could probably heat half the UK with that beast! It looks like a tube tester it has so many:sweat_smile:

Rowethren, I can't read the fine print in the pic. What company made this? Please?

@OldRoadToad (newRoadToad???) some Modius units on b-stock...
Thanks for the tip... picked up a Saga 1 for a future system and a Modious black for Headphone system. I was tempted by Freya S, but I'm cheap.

If you think that's space heater, check out Atma-sphere.

Tubes, VU meters, and black. Sounds like the trifecta for what ya'll looking for reading this thread. I'm sure Jason is working on the prototype now--minus VU meters and the $147K per pair price.

When a tube goes bad, how do you determine which one?

Only 20% of them are in the signal path, the rest are for show. :smile_cat:

some real design features & technology to go along with the $$$$ price tag: mfr's page indicates a built-in output tube tester; all triode operation, balanced, fully differential gain stage, and switches to turn off selective banks of output tubes when you don't need 500 Wpc. Each amp (upper section) weighs 80 lbs, regulated power supply weighs 152 lbs!!! Probably needs a dedicated 30A 120VAC circuit (the kind that runs an electric stove or all-electric clothes dryer) for each channel.

That many 6AS7's (42 per channel) wouldn't even put a dent in the stash that @bcowen has. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Awesome!! Proof positive that there's no such thing as too many tubes.
Potential for 18 GE tubes! How awesome is that Bill?

I immediately assumed one the meters showed the number of bad tubes.... :D

Just replace the entire set with a new, fully matched, one :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: If one can buy those monsters for $147K, what are a few little tubes to fuss about?
