Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

A dumb question maybe but what kind of wiring goes on the inside of your amps?
I guess that should give some character too.

I use high purity copper and some silver plated copper, I have never been a big fan of solid silver but I may have used some in one I gifted @bcowen, he provided some of his own wire, sockets, etc. Bill has very specific likes and dislikes so I try to humor him.

Hey guys,

For the virtual Schiitrmeet this month, you get me...this time, taking you on a walkthrough of the shop here in Corpus Christi, then answering whatever questions you might have. You can get a quick look at how we're set up here, and see my little corner of it all. With any luck, we may be able to have a real in-person meet soon (we can have them in Texas now, which is great but we don't have a Schiitr here yet. We'll see what happens in CA.)

You don't need to limit questions to Texas--I am spending time in both Texas and California, and can answer pretty much anything. And I know, you have tons of questions. Probably most relating to backorders and such. And yeah, we're still working on it. Bottom line is that we are making progress, but demand is higher than expected.

Please note the new time--we're in Central Time here, and I wanted to get started a bit early.

I have been known to use these on my personal setup. 2497 is a pretty tight fit in this connector but it can be done.

https://www.markertek.com/product/nf2cb-2/neutrik-nf2c-b-2-rca-professional-connector-pair

from the spec I could find, Mogami 2497 looks to be 8.5mm OD (2534 & 2549 are 6mm OD), and likely very stiff as well (so NOT a good candidate for a small radius u-bend to connect Magni to Modi other small / lightweight devices). (tincanear)

Rather than iterate what I just said, I will just say I would use other cable to make that bend and I only use 2497 where I feel it is warranted with no disrespect to the Magni or Modi.

Thank you, again!

Don't we all?
Sometimes you just have to be there lol. Everything has its limits.

I have been involved some wagers through the years with local audiophiles and engineers where I am handed a bucket of parts with relatively obscure tubes and bet that I cannot build a reasonable sounding amp using all that I am given. That is easier lol.

Very cool of you to do this.

That's what the freezer on your frig is for. Cry-o-ing stuff.

I thought it was more like cable deep-freezing with him (and with most of you guys, too, no?)...

When everyone else zigs, Bill zags. :D

Seriously. I don't believe Bill buys into the CRYO hype, but he is a firm believer in all things 'burn-in'.

** I can't say I disagree with Bill on that, however.

Ask him about his 'cable cooking' preferences.
Ah, cable cooking, the missing link between food and audiophilia. That begs the question;
Would cryo-treatment improve BBQ the same way that cable cooking does cables?

(running fast zig-zag avoiding frozen flying BBQ :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)
