Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Interview with Nelson Pass, half an hour long. It started about how he ended up in amplifier design, Pass Labs, First Watt, the difference between these two, etc.

Let me know if it has been posted here before. In that case I will delete this post.

I love this interview and Nelson's explanation of First Watt; I tend to use low power Class A and efficient speakers but it is not for everyone. The talk of subjective and objective was nicely handled IMHO. I will also add that through amp camp and some work by Wayne Colburn they have made it possible for folks to build quality equipment for comparatively little money. The parts about friends in college slapping equipment together and trying things out brings back a lot of memories for me. Fun stuff!
I have a couple people I like to use for blind testing because they can absolutely hear things I cannot; such people are few and far between. I love Nelson's giving credit to others and his humble approach.

Listening to Little Feat's eponymous debut album on mono Aegirs fed by Freya S and a Bimby. So good. It still flabbergasts me that it only sold 11,000 copies! Egads, it's criminally under appreciated, IMHO. Highly recommended if any of you haven't heard it before.

That's a great album. Ry Cooder plays a bit on it and I'm a huge Ry fan, too. "Waiting for Columbus" is one of my favorite live albums of all time.

Before you dismiss ABBA as worthless fluff, listen to the extreme vocal range and lyrical complexity of their music. Who else in the 1970s wrote about schizophrenia [Me and I], relations with your therapist [What's the Name of the Game], and other complex structures? Plus, the girls were incomparable v0calists with wide range.

The Who- Quadrophenia.

I have one of those 11,000 copies on vinyl. Haven't played it for awhile, maybe it's time to give it a spin again.

My favourite Little Feat album is Waiting for Columbus. Unfortunately I don't have this one on vinyl, just CD, but it is awesome

Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone, but I have 'Bay City Rollers' and 'Dedication' on vinyl. I only bring it out and play the albums when no one else is in the house. :smirk:

The last time I was reminded of the Bay City Rollers was when I watched "So I Married An Axe Murderer". Fun flick.

You're not the only one! One of these days I'll get it out and do a needle drop on it.
