If I were to get back into speaker/amp set ups, this would be where I'd start; loved Maggies back in the day for acoustic/vocals/etc. music! The Vidar seems like the logical amp choice as well...

So Watts are not all created the same, hence the question. It would seem that a class A amp like Aegir could possibly have better control over a speaker than a class AB amp (at very different Wattages).

yes this because there are many output stage config that work different spk to spk because there are interaction ..back efm is one,speaker push current back to amp and so on....
