Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

... The Kelvin DAC seems to drive the lower 6 bits while the higher 14 bits are on the R-2R ladder....

AD Datasheet:
"The six MSBs of the 20-bit data-word are decoded to drive 63 switches,"
i.e. it's the other way round, as in earlier posts.

Is that the power switch on the arm mount outrigger?
Looks like a worse place than the usual Schiit around the back switch, great for snagging a sleeve or watch on the arm lift or dislodging the wand ... :fearful:

Looks like it is,

To be honest, after long wait, i expected better looks & design, at least same as other schiit products have.
But hope it sounds fantastic, cause i want one!

That is minimalist to the m.

Am I missing something, but how is the motor mounted/aligned relative to the other spinning bits?

No knowledge of turntable here but i think the motor is a separate piece judging from the pics.

According to Jason's latest chapter the plinth is a Y shape, so I imagine it's mounted on top of one of the arms of said Y.

Nah, it just sits on the same surface as the "plinth", move it around to adjust speed (a little)

Speed is a factor of the size of the pulleys, not spacing.

Also, I’m surprised they actually used an arrow shaft for the tone arm. Maybe I can get set up as a supplier. I throw away hundreds of ‘cut offs’ that could be used as tone arms.

I wish they would have put the power switch on the motor pod, like Michell does. That does look like an accident waiting to happen. The rest of it looks brilliant though!
