So can any USB 2.0 compliant cable be effectively used with Eitr or is it still advisable to use one with a decent gauge of wire and double shielding? I literally haven't bought a USB cable for years so am completely out of touch! The 1.6ft (0.5m) Belkin Pro Series USB 2.0 cable (see page 2 of USB2_Cables.pdf) I bought for my Bifrost is no longer made, but a quick search has found me these two options from Lindy:

I guess if you were to ask @Jason Stoddard he might suggest 'any' compliant cable (per a recent post) ... the EITR is ambivalent about what is in front of it ... but some of us, having spent some €00's on equipment, might prefer to see a better built cable. I got a 'good' (reasonable ?) quality cable for €29 and it all sounds fine to me and kinda looks the part ... your experience may be different.

The Sciit site shows that Eitr is USB 2.0 but is compatible with USB 3.0/3.1. There a picture of Eitr back side showing the type of USB cable termination you will need on Eitr end.The cables you are looking at should be fine, but maybe a little short. Others I'm sure can advise you on that.

I assume you're ordering an Eitr. If Schiit over on that side of the pond carries Schiit Pyst usb cables just order one with it and have it all come at once. They only come in 1meter length though.

I like the idea of a chunky overbuilt cable, but these are usually stiffer and heavier and put extra strain on the stupidly fragile USB-B ports, which is why I normally go for a thinner and more flexible lead.

Incidentally I think I've found a vendor who has a 0.9m version of my old Belkin cable in stock (www.amazon.co.uk/d/Cables/Belkin-F3U133b03-Hi-Speed-Device-Cable/B002Z9D9RK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501521168&sr=8-1&keywords=F3U133b03), so I've gone ahead and ordered one of these in the mean time.

Well I just ordered a Vidar and a pair of Tekton Impact (soft red gloss) speakers. Planning for Roon>microRendu>Bimby>Jot>Vidar.

I hope this holds me for awhile, as I gots some explainin' to do.

I wish I knew who owns the GAIN (original) system now.....Alot of stunning CD's were mastered on it.......MOFI still makes good stuff on the GAIN 2 system but it doesn't have the same sound. Anyone know who has it now?
