Oh gawd......

My wife is deaf- support at cinemas is non-existent.
Sorry to hear that.
I've had some, limited, success with the closed captioning devices at theaters. They're sort of like the device Spock used on the the original Star Trek.

My favorite IMAX theater in Chantilly Va., no matter how much or how little I like the movie the before and after can be spectacular.😜

Right next to the airport... I'm tempted to make flying to go see a movie a thing. Thanks for sharing!

My Oppo universal player suddenly refuses to operate. If anyone has a recommendation for a decent universal player would you please send me a PM? I don't use my disc player much, but I do like having one.
OPPO is still supporting the players. Something like around a c-note to fix.

Lordy but do NOT get me started on Prometheus! Ridley Scott is my favorite living director and the Man behind my all time favorite film.
I shall put it as simple and to the point as I can. With Prometheus and it's related film(s), I want to WIN. The same holds true with the Matrix series. I want to WIN!

We did not.:triportsad:

I like some of the older sci-fi movies, Outland starring Sean Connery (High Noon done as a sci fi movie.), The Man who Fell to Earth...the author Walter Tevis also gave us The Steps of the Sun, and Mockingbird. Other books include The Hustler, The Color of Money, and Queen's Gambit which became known to many on Netflix in the last year.

I am a fan of most anything Stanley Kubrick directed, 2001, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Dr. Strangelove et alia.

Music wise, The War of the Worlds, narrated by Richard Burton, vocals by Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues.

A favorite sci-fi book to movie begins with this line...“When a day that you happen to know is Wednesday starts off by sounding like Sunday, there is something seriously wrong somewhere."

The Day of the Triffids.

Lately I fly into Dulles myself. I used to fly into Reagan when my son lived on K street in DC but now he is across the Potomac in Virginia.

My son works in Herndon, not far from Chantilly. I want to say the FAA air traffic control center was in the area during 9/11. Truth is stranger than fiction, first day on the job this gentleman got to shut down the air space over the US.

I was living and working in Herndon that day. Hearing it all go quiet was eerie in the extreme.

So anyway, I just skimmed through some of Dune in 3-D and loved the results in certain parts of the movie. I do not like to do spoilers so I will not get into specifics till others have seen it. Friends in a local sci-fi book club and group are about to see it in the theater so there will be an overload of info heading my way soon. There has already been a discussion of which words were changed in the Audible version compared to the first book. I am not into comic books or movies based on comic books other than early Superman or Batman so it was time for me to take a hiatus from said group.

Have you tried unplugging it from the mains and letting it sit for several minutes then reconnecting it to see if a cold reboot helps?

Can't tell from the fronts but that 3rd photo looks like a Grumman "Bearcat".

The Ex Machina dance scene with Isaac and Sonoya Mizuno was so outrageously appropriate.

I didn't know that, I'll contact them next week.

Yes. The first trouble was the <eject> button didn't do it's job. But now, the <power> button doesn't work. So after plugging the player back in, it stays dark.
