The point, just about halfway...
Hmmmmm... So my use of Ted Nugent's 'Cat Scratch Fever' on a continuous loop while randomly administering electrical shocks to participants when guessing may have rendered my last 'Double Blind' listening test irrelevant?

The inclusion of Ted Nugent makes it irrelevant. :smirk_cat:

It should be an interesting and fun exercise. It may be difficult to recreate the acoustics of Harry's room though! :sunglasses:
There's a DSP thing that can recreate the acoustics of any room for headphones. Just saying. Is it the Smyth Realiser?

With all that glass that's probably a good thing.

We just redid the home theater to a hardwood floor instead of carpet (WAF) and I'm having one hell of a time to try and get the sound right. It bounces all over and speech is a nightmare :frowning2:(
No rug permitted? Alternatively, Lyngdorf's RoomPerfect is specifically intended for nightmare rooms like that.

Does anyone know if any of this is relevant if your output is HDMI instead of USB? I have a theory...
I researched this a few weeks ago. Problem is makers of devices that output over HDMI don't care about audio.
HDMI outputs audio by playing an invisible movie at some frame rate with the audio included in what used to be called the blanking interval.
Something crazy like that...

I don't believe so. A four stroke fires on every second revolution for each cylinder. If it were a 6 cylinder 2 stroke motor, then yes, 15K fires would be correct for 2500 RPM
Fair. i was doing simplistic idiocy, it seems…

Was waiting for the Yggdrasil upgrade. Now, big question, how much better are the new ones over my Gungnir MB.

Since my tastes trend towards "real instruments" in "real spaces" (e.g. groups of musicians not using electronics in a concert venue) I'd probably get what @Baldr says sounds most natural.

Hmmm... My pre-pro doesn't do USB. Maybe I need that Eitr in the classifieds so I can connect audio only signals via S/PDIF.

Sounds like he prefers the LIM version. While, surprisingly @Jason Stoddard prefers MIL. If Jason was forced to explain in more detail why he prefers MIL over the LIM, I'd be very interested and I think that additional (albeit subjective) data point could help those in codifying the various options. Same with @Balder and his thoughts.

Real interested on the technical side of things... Why was the MIL more challenging to implement compared to the LIM?

Did @Jason Stoddard intentionally go with the palindromic acronyms and sonic positioning: LIM <-> OG <-> MIL
