The last time I tried Qobuz on my Mac mini, the multimedia buttons on my wireless Apple keyboard didn't work. I'm trying out Deezer (also a French company) right now, the keys don't work either.

Does anyone else have the “perfect mid-fi threat” of HD-6xx & HE-5xx? I have both with balanced cable fed by Mjolnir 2 & Gungnir MB, and Pi2AES and I’m very happy.

I do find myself catching occasional upgraditis, and mostly I manage to buy a set of tubes and sell a set of tubes simultaneously for basically a cost wash, and it’s working very nicely for now. I do find myself wondering what $1000 cans could possibly sound like, but without a meet to go to in this crazy time, I just try to stop worrying & wondering.

Mostly loving this set up.

You're smart to stave off the upgraditis with tubes!

Speaking of the itch to move up from HD6XX; I was in that exact same position before. Like others have said, HD6XX is wonderful. However, I have been listening more to my Drop/Focal Elex (via Bifrost 2 > Asgard 3) and must say they are an amazing value with great sound. I'm surprised I haven't seen them mentioned here more often. Of course, whether the difference is worth it to you, only you can say!

I also have LCD-3f (used), and thoroughly enjoy those when I want a different flavor.

I've been using HE-500 for several years now, with a Mjolnir I. They have proved immune to replacement. I've purchased and subsequently resold ZMF Atticus and Auteur, and had many different borrowed head phones (Audeze LCD-X, Sennheiser HD-800, some Beyerdynamic, at least one Focal), but the HiFiMAN remain. Adding a Bifrost I MB upped my enjoyment of my bedroom system by double.

It's not a rotational issue. The problem for USA residents is that whatever you start playing now you'll have to listen to yesterday since it's already tomorrow there.
