Exciting - looks like a great value. What are you guys thinking about an update for the current Modi form factor? I'm a loyal Magni amp user so having the larger footprint DAC probably not ideal for my desktop rig (but I could see buying the Modius for one of my main speaker-based rigs).

I love that it continues to be USB-powered capable.

Nice, it even got AES. I was hoping for AES for the next Gungnir as the BF2 doesn't provide it and now along comes the Modius.

FWIW: 2 7/16" and six Tbs.

I was making some instant noodles recently that had the following instructions:
Boil 600 ml of water
Add noodles and cook for 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
Pour out water until only 7 tablespoons remain.
Add sauce pack and return to low heat for 30 seconds.

Modius + Asgard will be the upgrade pick for those who are interested in the Modi 3 + Magni 3 stack. Decently priced, too - just double that of the entry-level combo. Nice!

I wonder if this Modius is what baldr hinted at before:

One of the cheap DACs (I recently built) sounded waaaaaaaaaaaaay too *** good. This what I should know after forty some years of building DACs. I have to find out why this cheap DAC if built sounds so good. I do not believe in the engineering paranormal so perhaps I am missing out on some engineering spec. We shall see. More on this as it is revealed.

Modi 3 is fairly new (~2018 ?). So that is/was the update to Modi form factor.

I suspect updating it in current DAC lineup wouldn't be cost effective.
