Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Back in the day - when I worked for the UK's indigenous computer manufacturer - we were banned from using codenames as they invariably crept out to the public and into documentation of all kinds causing confusion at the very least. Though I do remember the Dragon being shot publicly on stage. IIRC, Manual from Faulty Towers was part of that undertaking.

We replaced the Dragon with a machine built around this newfangled thing called SPARC (and for those technical folks amongst you, ported UNIX SVR4 onto SPARC - most folks to this day think Sun did it) and delivered a very successful product. If any of you have read Kidder's 'Soul of a New Machine' he comes closest to capturing what it's like to build a new clean sheet machine in my experience.

Cheers
Unix v7 -> x86 and yes to Soul of a new Machine!

The Bifrost 2 manual warns not to cover any vent holes. It has no vent holes. :)

It also says not to put it close to a "heat source". So... no to stacking a Jotunheim on top?

It got quite hot under there, maybe Bifrost 2 could use some vent holes on the sides at least.

So probably a bad idea to balance it on a Freya's four tubes...

But seriously, I was wondering whether it could be stacked on the uncut side of a Freya+. Sounds like that could be iffy or worse.

Just get some of these to go between them so the heat can escape. You'll be fine.:grin:

Keep line up simple and replace the SYS with SYS S the same plus balanced connections for a bit more, i think that might be a hit, more expensive must be better logic !!!

Eh... no.

I don’t have balanced. I don’t want balanced. I don’t want to pay for balanced I don’t need. Sys is fabulous as is. Balanced Sys should be an entirely separate product.
