@Robert Padgett

Don't take this wrong, but your multiple posts in a row take up massive amounts of space.
Especially on mobile.
Please combine your posts.

Thanks :)
There's a very useful ignore button for posters you deem not to spill time on.

Hey, I am sorry. One of the reasons I have been replying to different posts, and then they all pile up at the end...blame my ignorance. I rarely look on mobile so I didn't know.

The Souther was sort of an underground/regional thing back in the day. I paid $800 for the arm, and I got the tt (VPI Mk IV) as a part payment for setting up a guys listening rooms... so that was pure right place/right time.

I came to see my two sons were not interested in my vinyl collection or vinyl playback - neither is the wife - and I couldn't hack the image of a guy driving off with my stuff, and making 20x what he paid for it - so I did it myself. The Gumby convinced me digital had come of age, and 96% of my vinyl and all the playback - gone. I don't miss it a much as I thought I would.

Well that is a happy, sad, funny story :)

I really never fell in love with digital till Yggy.
I improves everything it touches, especially me.

So my new friend with the all the amazing gear is going to get my Yggy for a short loan in his systems.
I bet I sell another one for my favorite audio company.
And I get too listen to that system!
More pics of HiFi porn to come

I don't use it, my skin isn't thin.
I figured just be polite, I like Robert :)
I think he's just a bit of a forum noob, he'll learn.

Oops, double posted :p

This sucks on a phone.

Now, imagine that we went to Continuity for Asgard 3. With Continuity, we’d have an amp that could do 4W into 32 ohms and provide much better performance overall, no matter the metric.

Furthermore, it could take the same cards as Lyr 3 and Jotunheim.

Furthermore, with the production efficiency increases that we’re now realizing, it might be a $299 product—with the AK4490 DAC card included.

Okay, now that is an exciting idea. I've been contemplating trying a multibit DAC, as well. An Asgard 3 with a multibit DAC card would be very attractive.

Ridiculous. Yggdrasil.
The full name, and why it's important. I'm sure someone has covered this in the past.

Yggdra - Old norse. The music center in the brain.
Yddraitis - (AKA brain itch) - Inflammation / irritation of the Yggdra. Commonly caused by listening to music that "sounds like a$$. Symptoms may include, but are not limited to:
- scratching one's head to relieve the itch, while wondering what's up with the tunes
- random screeds on internet forums, particularly on websites that shall not be named
- madness akin to mercury poisoning
- Removing the M from EDM
Yggdrasil - The first known cure for Yggdraitis. Dosage - Use regularly to achieve a "Peaceful Easy Feeling"

*Side effects of Yggdrasil may include a new-found respect for the Eagles

Yggy/Yaggy - Derogatory term for someone suffering from Yddraitis and/or its symptoms. Those who have tried curing Yggdraitis through higher bit depth or upsampling, DSD, or LSD.

*In "the dark days" Boney M listening sessions were often used as an attempt to "add the last M" to EDM resulting in loss of hearing and sometimes death.

It's not about liking but about using a public forum as a personal stage.

Is show and tell with gear doing that? If so I'm guilty, but that's what we do here.
As usual it's all part of the story:)

@ItsAllInMyHead
LOL, thanks for that, that's the schiit we need. :p

Well there's the full story, friends! That is cool @ItsAllInMyHead :)

If I may offer a thought . since all new Yggdrasil DACs now come equipped with A2, can we just call it Yggy?
Or, as @Ableza wrote so well, "Yggdrasil." Easy.

I call it Yggy, pronounced Iggy.

Yaggy is short for Jagermeister :p
