OK. My realistic / money is an object dream rig:

A 20w or 25w x2 Schiit true class A in a Vidar type enclsure
A next gen Saga Preamp with integrated HP amp equal to Lyr 3 and option slot for a Phono card
A Gumby, Jr in a Bifrost enclosure with the new Schiit Gen 5-like USB and 1x (hopefully 2) S/PDIF coax inputs
A Schiit CD Transport
A SOL Turntable

And then there's speakers:

Tek Lore or Zu Dirty Weekends

I know. But I can dream, can't I??

@Jason Stoddard

I've been looking at the "Utah" speakers, Spatial Audio, Tekton Design, and Zu Audio.
If I want the Mid range speakers from one of these companies I can't pay 5k for a Pass XA25, that's my speakers!

So DIY or Schiit for a class A and they are WAY better than me!
And yes a guy Must dream.

I hope he reads it, I think if you @ flag him he does

Count me in on the wanting to try a pure class A amp. First I'd want really efficient speakers. I am saving for a pair of Tekton Lore or Zu Audio Omen DW.

After that I liked the idea Jason had for a Class A amp. Also I found a DIY Nelson Pass Amp called the ACA or something like that. I may have read that here. The new version is 8W stereo and like $350.

I would think that a Saga, ACA Amp and Zu Omen DW would be a kicking system.

My source being a MicroRendu, Eitr and Gumby

ill be starting my own speakers sometime soon. doing a voigt pipe type design. i made a similar set years back using image dynamics car drivers and the things sounded stunning. i had the opportunity to chat with dr edgar many years back (2003) this was a design we came up with i never got around to doing and found the paperwork recently.also doing a fiberglass design where i can target an exact shape. im looking at class a designs but amp wise im still open so it will be interesting to see what jason comes up with

Over the weekend I saw an excellent Nelson Pass article that showed his home speakers, I will try and locate it tomorrow. Most appeared to be from the sixties and very efficient. Get something like those and five watts is plenty.

If you can still get the drivers?

+ I think a lot to be gained by these modern designs?

True, thus I am considering Klipsch for a while.

I know this is heresy, but I'm not a big fan of horn speakers... Likely a carry-over from the old days of disco and piezoelectric horn tweeters. They probably turned me off to horn loaded anything!! :D

Now if one were to give me a pair of Klipsch Heresy II's, I might have a change of heart.

I cannot recommend the Spatial M3 Triode Masters enough. They sound amazing with pure Schiit driving them. I am totally hooked on open baffle. It sounds so open.
