And yet... know people who have spent vast sums on their listening room speakers... speakers with big horns pointed at their ears a few feet away. Speakers that can make quiet classical guitar passages as loud and annoying as fff trumpets blasting their spit - onto the woodwinds. And beyond. 🤣
The beyond...

Speakers that honk as loud as a flock of geese...

Indisputable fact:
The "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" on this one will forever remain one of the best live rock recordings of all times.

100% agreed. This entire album is one of the finest live recordings, ever, especially the 6-disk Super Deluxe Edition. At 35':36", "Mountain Jam" is a musical piece to get lost in.

I can also recommend the Who's extended "Live at Leeds", marred only by too much talking, as equivalent in greatness. Both bands were at their peak and the playing is ferocious. Both albums were released fairly close to each other in time, too.

Duane Allman is buried near Elizabeth Reed in the same cemetery. :hearts:

Easiest and fastest LIKE I've ever done.

In fact, if the Staxen are hot ... ooooh, they are ... it's a great time for a replay.

After all the good things I've read about this album since you posted this I ordered it on CD. The CD is a 1997 German release bought from a company in the UK who is now shipping it to Canada.

Is the interweb great or what?

Makes me think you'd make wonderful external crossover/DSP boxes.

It's probably easier just to go steampunk on such...

Hey, @OldRoadToad does a steam pressure gauge substitute for a VU-meter? (calling old toads....)

I’m in lust… < shudder >

Condolences.

Maybe bring in some dragons as a counterpoint? "Sorry dear, I had forgotten that dragons consider gnomes a delicacy...." :smiling_imp:

In World of Warcraft my favorite NPC is a dragon named Chromie who enjoys transforming herself into a gnome. WoW music files were one of my first tests of Tyr.

Does that make that dragon full of self-loathing?!
