Where is Valhalla 3, and will it have a Fork up its Schiitr?
In order: done when it's done, and no.

There will be "blood and guts" as well as Forkbearded products. They don't need to be mutually exclusive.

Caveat: this doesn't mean Valhalla 3 will be simple or stupid. It'll still be the "completely modern tube headphone amp," with all the advanced features, performance, and protection you need. The thing is, it doesn't have a motorized pot, a relay ladder volume control, or a microprocessor. So it's not an easy bolt-on operation.

Twas great catchin up live today @bagwell359 Can’t believe it’s literally been 34 years! (Well maybe 33 or 35, but heck). Awesome listening together, and thanks for those new tunes.

Bummed we lacked the ability to do the ‘cans, but can do so at your place next time.

What a great day. Some thing’s literally do span the decades. Walt and I used to do a lot of critical listening way back in the “days”. Today was a really blessed one, you don’t get November days warm enough to open all the listening room windows (thus unloading BASS) in November in New England very often. Heck, as in, maybe never before? 74F and humid.

Apogees were singing… Hana/Skoll/Kara were doing their thing… Yggy and our CD’s… it was 4 hours of reminiscing about the emotional magic of music long-loved. 50’s/60’s Jazz, great classical, and… just all the old favorites…

Bummed we couldn’t fit your Ragnarok in with those killer cans! (Adapters, we need stinkin’ adapters)! (Grin). Your headphones were gorgeous and can’t wait to hear them. (Kara can’t do the job, and I’ve no headphone amp other than Kara’s).

PS: Bismarck says “hi”, nice to meet you!image.jpg
Why name a dog Bismarck? I love it!!! 😆

I will be ready with my credit card when all is said and done

About the icons on the app being the same as on device and causing people to be confused or not knowing what symbol means what—the manuals for the products you own do tell you what’s what. Schiit may have a specific and possibly initially unintuitive scheme for their icons that refer to product features or in a dac’s case, which input is which…it is a hell of a lot easier for me to remember than it was learning my chord mojo 2. Not telling people to get over their concerns, just noting I think over time we will learn how to use the app fairly quickly.
I find Schiit's icons unintuitive, but I think that's good for the brain. I'll get them once I expose myself more to them. Basic ones like the inputs I know, because of shape association.

I also have a Mojo 2 and initially felt lost in the menu until my mind created a map of that visual language with light colors. Now I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

Reviews painted it like learning COBOL or something. Learning the Mojo 2 menu was easier than the puzzles in Uncharted games. 🤪

If you dream it, Paladin79 will build it as long as you send him a few RCA, NOS, red-base 5692's
Man doth not live on 5692’s you know, but I could try.🤪🤪🤪🤪

I can think of many reasons, but will not steal @Bowmoreman 's thunder. One very good reason is to honor the lost sailors of the SMS Bismarck in May 1941. RRegardless of their political affiliations, they fought and died as seamen in an honorable manner. This deserves recognition by all.

I sense a Valhalla 3 may be in my future - even without a fork in it. 😉
