I may consider getting a Ghorn if I get back into speaker building. It is nice to try different amps in my shop setup.
I am a great believer in headroom and all of my amps tend to have power to spare.
Most often I crank up music in my shop since I am already wearing ear protectors and running power tools. I have the equivalent power of Carver Silver Sevens but I never go quite that far.
I hope to get back on your switch box today after experiencing downtime yesterday due to vaccination after effects. Just aching joints and cold-like symptoms.
I spent much of the day in a recliner watching film noir movies and series such as Lioness.

Roon has been a little on the expensive side for me for what I would currently get out of it but as I am somewhat rapidly building up a robust library of downloaded albums I feel that will change and that Roon will definitely start making sense for me.
I am running a single Ghorn with mini-radial speakers, it is a very good match. Ghorn is an underrated amp, it has driven my HPM-100s without strain to uncomfortable volume levels.

Very cool, maybe in the spring I can build more mini speakers. I am down to Adam’s build, a couple tile related builds, and one last build for a couple of twins.
Mine is now stationed in my office, it's replacing my 300B set amp, which is sidelined with bad power transformer - a replacement (at nearly twice the cost of the GHorn) is several weeks away.....

Room was a no brainer for me. Got in relatively early. I believe it only makes sense on the lifetime license. As a monthly fee I'm not a fan.
It excels at unifying multiple hardware under one software. I have a Squeezebox Touch and now a couple raspberry Pi's delivering music around my home.
When I had it attached to Qobuz also was really great integration.
But at the cost now I probably wouldn't go that way.
Although with the new remote option it has become invaluable to me. I travel a lot and am able to download my Room playlists or my favorite albums to my mobile device and use it offline in my car.

$830 for a lifetime subscription is definitely a big up-front ask - basically paying for 5.5 years straight up, but then it's free after that, I guess. That's a long-game move...
Roon Arc seems very cool though I'm sure it'd be downsampling any DSD files I'd want to make mobile, yeah?
