Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

A question I forgot to ask the Schiit folks this weekend: I’ve noticed a few products using usb c oriented vertically instead of horizontally—is this about fitting the ports on a busy pcb, is this about a more sturdy implementation of usb c that results in more reliability over time?

I haven't clicked on it yet because I haven't had dinner.
The sun is over the yardarm here so a drink is in order since I am in the middle of a stressful build.🤣🤣 Finnegan may have jump in and help tomorrow.

I don't know if it's ABP, but in the description of Wotan on the Schiit website there is a typo. I'm guessing that after "insanely capable," you want the word "amp."

That's a interesting and actionable WELL-DUH observation for the headphone designers out there. An under-served portion of the market is an opportunity.
...and maybe in Tiffany blue etc colors

...
My point of all this is that most hardware engineers understand,... but many in software development are very creative....
Hey!

Now, can you come to my current employer (until Schiit hires me) and tell them the above? Thx!

....

No voice control.
Ever.
Period.
...
But I would pay extra if it were Mike's voice. He could then tell me not a play a particular audio selection, as it might sound "like ass"...!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣
...
Exactly, we don't want to voice control Forkbeard, we want Forkbeard to voice control our spouses, significant others, pets and children.

How much would that add to development efforts?

Yes, I was there. We actually talked for about a minute! I was the 300 pound gorilla with glasses and a beard, lurking around the Forkbeard room for most of Saturday. 😜

...
Wait, so you are the model for the Schiit "Go Ape" poster? Wow!

So would I. A lot has changed since I retired, so I would like to hear how it is developed and controlled today.
I can certainly explain how it is supposed to be done. Honored mostly in the breach....

google Doc Norton and the basics will be described.

I don't know anything about any industry standards because I've never worked in a corporate team. ...
Working on teams is a little different. Working with idiots is a lot different. I recommend not working with the latter. Unfortunately, most teams are teams of idiots.

And I absolutely love working on teams

The mention of Windows is a typo, there are no plans to support Windows (nor macOS, Linux, visionOS, Meta Horizon OS, or MS DOS, for that matter). We could, eventually, if enough people ask for Windows or macOS. But right now, there are no such plans.

Android will be available later next year. We want to get the iOS implementation completely right first, and then apply what we have learned to Android.
I'm still trying to navigate the last eight or nine pages but wanted to ask if a list of custom pre-set profiles for each stack is being planned for the app? It would be nice to walk into a room and have all my settings changed at the touch of a button , especially if the spouse or kiddies were listening to their preferred setting. Thanks!
Cheers!:beerchug:
