Yawn. If you want to go high-end, butter it and toast it in about 15 seconds: 🤣

Do you mean the capability to connect to and read from SMB shares on your local network, or the ability to host its own file system and provide SMB shares to other devices on your network?
A client to read from shares on the network. I would be happy with NFS, too, but that's probably too small a market to bother.

2024 Chapter 10
Schiitr 2: The Sequel

You get the picture. Go ahead and dream. Blue-sky it. Leave off sci-fi technology like Tardises and warp drives. Otherwise…what’s your ideal Schiitr 2?
I'd love to see (besides entry/lobby/checkout) 3 distinct areas:
  1. Headphones of course
  2. Speaker / Cinema
  3. Finally, a smaller office like area for desktop audio / apartment living
Lastly, invest in decent audio/video production using a decent video switcher (Black Magic Design Atem ) along with multiple cameras, I see you have already started using DJI Mics

Why all this chatter about streamers again? Has Jason's position on them changed?

He has said dozens of times that he is not interested in producing a streamer because there are already plenty of options on the market and because he does not want to support a software-driven device. Similarly, he has said "nope" to DAPs (don't want the warranty issues of batteries) and "never again" to loudspeakers (been there, done that, know it's a "me too" product and a road to ruin unless you back it with very deep pockets.)

Perhaps his position has changed... but streamer talk is likely pointless speculation. A free espresso bar in the new Schittr, however, might have a better chance...

I made coffee today for the first time in an AeroPress. Good, better than I expected.

In other news my Salamander Archetype stand arrived this evening. Putting it in place will have to wait till I can get a friend to help. Lifting a Tyr is not something I can do myself. Nice looking walnut shelving I must say. Anyone else here using an Archetype?

What I use is more than $200 but it does more than just toast the bread, it allows the center to be bread-like and flavorful. 🤪

Returning to the discussion of listening to lyrics vs. the human voice as an instrument...

I watched this very enjoyable program this past weekend. I didn't understand a word of the lyrics, but the music was transcendent. Highly recommended for Snarky Puppy fans.

Looks like it's available to stream from the PBS website through November 8. Apologies to friends outside the US if this is a US-only thing...
