Schiit Fulla 2 vs Schiit Magni 2U + FIIO D03K vs Schiit Vali 2 + FIIO D03K

FWIW, I've been using the Vali 2 with my HD650s and simply love the sound. This is the only amp I've used with these headphones, however. That said, I was using the Fulla 2 by itself with my HD 598s before switching to using the Fulla 2's DAC with the Vali 2 and found the Vali 2 to be much easier to listen with on long sessions. The Fulla 2's amp is definitely brighter and sounded somewhat shrill/fatiguing in comparison. I have since returned the Fulla 2 to Schiit and bought a Modi Multibit DAC to stack with my Vali 2. This combination has been wonderful with both my HD598s and HD650s.

The Magni 2U is definitely the most powerful amp of the three you listed in terms of raw output, but I don't personally have any experience with it. The HD650s are a premium set of cans that want a quality DAC & amp combo. I personally wouldn't buy the Fulla 2 strictly as a desktop computer audio setup unless you are on a tight budget. I really don't think you could go wrong with either the Magni 2U or Vali 2, both will drive the HD650s without breaking a sweat. Being able to tube roll to fine tune the sound to preference with the Vali 2 is another benefit to consider as well.

Thanks Rifleman. I rationalised that I couldn't afford a dedicated amp and dac so just pulled the trigger on the Fulla 2. I hope I don't find it shrill and fatiguing, I'll tell you how it goes!

The HD650s are fairly laid back with a bit of a treble roll off. That should work in your favor with the Fulla 2. Another good thing with the HD650s is that they scale up very well if/when you decide to upgrade your equipment. The Fulla 2 is certainly no slouch and is a great & economical way to get your feet wet with external DAC/amps.

Did you receive your Fulla 2 yet? I'm curious to know how well it worked out with your HD650s.
