Sansui G4700 is not a Sansui from the old days just look at the pictures of the internals of that receiver. Much of the knobs are plastic, the glass, how should I put it, front is plastic and so on. I had a Sansui G5700 so I know a little bit and I sold it. Pioneer looks more promising to me. I do not want to judge the headphone output on these two receivers because I do not know. I have some older Sansui gear right now and in the way people now writte about their outputs is a little bit exagerated for me. They have power to drive almost anything but still something is missing. I would own one for a collection but just for listeninning purposes I would rather buy a new dedicated headphone amp. That is my opinion and sorry for my incorrect english spelling if there is any...:):)

thanks. i ended up getting a sx-780 a few weeks ago. sounds great and has enough power for my he-5le out of the headphone output.
