I bought 3 on woot.com and I put a song on it and it is actually louder on the new clip I got on woot than the one I already had.
I didn't update the firmware on the new one...might this be the reason??

please report back if the firmware of the existing one and the woot ones are different. There are two versions of the clip. v1 and v2 and both use their own firmware. v1 = 1.xxxx and v2 = 2.xxxxx

interesting, I would update the firware of the woot clip to the latest and check again. I received my three clips from woot, but have not had a chance to test them.

Do you know that in the Settings menu there's a volume selection with High and Normal choices? Are both of your clips using the same volume setting? If not, that could account for the difference.

calexico, use the high volume setting for not-so-sensitive headphones and low volume for sensitive phones. v1 is pretty good.

I have an OT question.

On average, I'm listening at 16/31 (Normal Volume Setting).
In a noisy place, I listen at 19/31. Often in the gym, I'll listen at 25/31.

I really enjoy the music at 25/31.
I wonder if this is too loud.
I've always wanted to crank up the volume more but at the same time, I'm worried about hurting my ears.
My Clip is running at version V01.01.30A

Here are the specs of my IEM:
Impedance: 12 ohm
Sensitivity:115 db
