Thanks to everyone who attended. It was my pleasure to host the event.

Being able to mix and match so many incredible amps, dacs, and headphones was a real treat for me.

It also laid to rest a question on my mind, of whether it's worth buying/building an amp, just to drive my IEMs. After side-by-side comparisons, using all your incredible DACs/amps, the answer was a resounding YES. It was astounding hearing my modded JVC FD01s at their full potential.

Now, convincing my wife? That's another matter.

Thanks again folks.

When you figure that out, let me know. I could use some help there too. :D
I think my best shot is to continue hosting these events, and hope someone eventually forgets to take their amp. Awww... note to self: next time, provide guests with whiskey.

@DimitriSF well on top of not being able to go last minute, I realize I wasn't subscribed to this thread so never even saw the posts! Looks like some fantastic gear was there. Would love to try to make the next one if you or someone else hosts. Thanks on behalf of the headphone community for hosting!

Deal for @DimitriSF :
https://www.audioadvisor.com/mobile/prodinfo.asp?number=1IFMIDSDBL
iFi micro iDSD BL for $400 instead of $600

Edit: says "Demo", so I suppose it's used

Thanks for the lead. This past week, after a lot of almost clicking the buy button, on a couple different amps, I talked myself off the ledge. I really enjoyed the iFi (and the S.E.X.) amp, but can't bring myself to drop $400-600 just to drive my IEMs. It'd be a splurge rather than a necessity. When I finally get some higher-end, full-size headphones, then I think I'd be able to justify it (not just to me, but to my wife).

@DimitriSF:

You don't have to spend a ton of cash to get a good IEM DAC/amp. The Topping NX4DSD is great for the cost ($160 on Amazon, can get cheaper used).

They pop up from time to time for around $125-$130.

And I would say that this is as good as the Chord Mojo that's more than 2x the price tag.

Cheers!
