I need help choosing between these two models. Which has better sound? The k3 looks better by a longshot with the lights and touch pad but I also want to take sound into consideration...

in a brief comparison through E4c's, I think the T9 sounded worlds better. The K3 was decent, but the T9 was exceptional. In addition, the T9 has a Custom EQ and tactile buttons. I personally would take tactile over touch controls any day, but that's all preference. besides the coolness and price, the T9 wins hands-down.

x2. Samsung YP-T9 is based on a totally different platform. I ABed them both one day in Best Buy. YP-T9 sounds dark, laid-back and very spatial. It's soundstage is wide, deep and very well defined. In YP-K3's sound presentation there is no depth, just left and right. Also precision of localyzing the sources is lower. However, K3 sounds powerful with strong bass impact and more in your face presentation. For IEMs I'd recommend Yp-T9 because it will be less fatiguing to listen to the Yp-T9 than Yp-K3. Yp-K3 touch buttons are annoying sometimes, BTW.

I think K3 is pretty good but it's only need to put something around the HJ metal ring to cover it. It(metal ring) can cause less detailed sound or ftgng(metal ring is not good for IEMs use).

As Rockin Amigo pointed out, the controls should be taken into consideration. I think the K3 is one of the best-looking DAPs I've seen, but the T9 would be easier to control (plus it's better-looking in person than it is in photos).

Even if they sounded the same, the T9 would get my vote if you wanted to operate it in a pocket or while not having to look at it. So it's interesting that people who have heard both recommend the T9 for its sound.
