It's almost winter, and that means we got big sale season in front of us.
You know, black friday, christmas season, new year sales events etc.

But due to the bad economic situation this year, I am wondering if people can buy things as they did before or not. So, let's poll it for fun.

I don't think I will buy chunky stuff, but might buy couple small things for christmas I think.

I can't not get my step-kids a little something, everyone else has already told me "please don't buy me anything, I can't afford to get you anything". Maybe we will have a better time around the table with some good food and many laughs.

This year; the tree will NOT be lifted off the floor by the gifts as in years past.

This year it's really been simple shopping. Five Nintendo DSs in five different colors and a few games for each, and that's about it. But That's what the Kids wanted!!

I have lost some of the Christmas Spirit however since after buying them from Wal-Mart, I read an article about Wal-Mart being about the only store that's expected to do well this year, and the smug comments made about it by Wal-Mart management was a major turn-off. I wish we'd have spent a few bucks more and gotten the stuff from another store.

One thing we really hate doing is when helping one of the kids with their utility bills to keep the electrons flowing at this time of the year, is to go on to say "Merry Christmas" and realize the it's the Power Company, or the Phone Company who is getting the gift and not them.

My family was never big on gifts. We usually only spend about $30 max on each person.

I am done with my Xmas shopping. I have never done a Black Friday shopping spree though anyway. I have heard too many stories from people saying "never again". I keep hearing that deals this year should be great, but most people don't want to spend the money, so we will see.

I xmas shop all year to avoid the deadly season. Still, this year things are just too tight. I had hoped to get a new pair of headphones or a small tube amp but it's not gonna happen. Oh well, I do appreciate a warm place to sleep.

I HATE this time of year. Everything is utterly corporately pushed marketing mayhem. We don't have cable so the tele is used only for DVDs and as a saving grace there, my kids don't know about the latest and greatest. We will pick up some interesting things for each of them but my wife and I have agreed nothing for each other as we save for a trip in the spring. I suppose then that is our late Christmas present to each other.

I can't say I don't have a list of wants, but I won't be running to check them off.

I'm thinking about buying myself a used Jeep Wrangler and a pair of cowboy boots for Christmas.

I save up for months to buy gifts for my family and friends, and this is my favorite time of year. I was raised in a house that gave great gifts, and i intend to carry on the tradition.
