Safe to Buy Laptop Batteries on ebay?

I'd look around at all the non-OEM batteries being offered (yes, it's alot of work) and figure out which seems to be the best put-together one. Alot of sellers sell the same battery and you can compare information from their descriptions. Personally, I have bought two non-OEM batteries (one for my Canon G3 and one for my Sony TRV900 camcorder) at a FRACTION of the cost, and they both actually have exceeded my expectations and performance of my original batteries. I think I finally bought them because two sellers touted their insides (cells?) as having been made in Japan. Now, my original batteries lasted four years and these have lasted a year so far (knock on wood), but for the money, I think it's worth it to experiment and take a shot, certainly.

I got my 700m battery off ebay with no problems. Make sure it's a reputable seller and you should be good to go. I got a battery exactly like the ones Dell sale, except it was about 40% cheaper..

Pretty much the same deal with me. I bought an extra battery for my Inspiron 9300 on eBay, it was identical to my other Dell battery and I've never had a problem with it.
