Well I finally decided to take the plunge on SACD as titles are slowing becoming available locally.

Right now only Sony players are available where I live and I have put down my choices down to 3 models as they are in my price range.

Sony SCD-XB770

Sony DVP NS900V

Sony DVP-NS700V or DVP-NS500V for US people (Seen some positive reviews here of this player and the price is too goo to be true
)

Well as far as auditioning goes I haven't had a chance yet but my friend who has similar tastes as me had a short listen and said they were'nt bad. Prices vary but I can afford em.

Yes DVD playback can be a plus but I'm more intrested in audio playback. Prefably good in both Redbook and SACD regions.

Currently my source is the famed Marantz 6000 KI which I want to replace but it's hard to do so

I really like the XA777ES. Are you sure you can't stretch the budget a tad?

I like your definition of "a tad."
