Well I have heard a few SACDs, but im mainly going on DVD-as since thats waht my player plays. I deff heard ALOT more soundstage, expecially with Beck sea change, but why?
I know that my HDCDs give more dynamic possibilities, with higher sampling, but how does SACD or DVD-a translate to more sound stage?

More dynamic range. There's 16.7 million discrete levels for dvd-a (24bit^2), as opposed to 65535 levels for cd (16bit^2). Pure analog has infinite amount of levels, i.e. DVD-A is closer to analogue sound quality. The bit depth is the reason for the better soundstage.

BTW HDCD does not have a higher sampling rate than cd, however the bit depth is improved to 20bits.

BTW that's a bloody good source you're using! I have the SD-900e (euro model).

O, Ok i got ya. I mis undersood the meaning of sampling rate.
I really like mine. Got it used, so for the price I payed I am EXTREMELY happy.
But even if I had payed closer to the 2K retail i would still be happy.
