Hi everyone,
tired of my Sleek Audio cables hardening,I modded a Westone ES cable, and it went pretty good.
I noticed a great change in soundstage separation compared to the original cable

.
Still need to A-B test to hear other improvements if there are any.
Anyone else used another cable with the sa6 other than the original one ?
Here are some pics :

Good job

Any pictures ?
I am tempted to create my own cables for my sa6, but the mogami and canare cables that I have seem quite inflexible for headphone cables, better for lod, ic only.
So you use nokia's plug too ?
What method did you use to shorten it ?

Thanks =)
I'll post pictures tomorrow

And yes,I used Nokia plugs, but, didnt shorten it (dont know how to), so, the connector is a little bit longer.
But,this was my first try,and I didnt have a glue gun at that time.So after soldering,i used some Pattex paste thing, that hardens in 10 minutes, it's kinda ugly, but well, soundstage improved a little,so it's worth it ^^. Planning on making another one soon, using Sleek Audio original plugs.
And you should try this, just order a Westone or any other cable. You could even use a cheap earbuds cable, but I don't think this would improve the sound like the Westone cable.

Yup, same here, was intending to use the my sa6's wired and wireless original plugs in the future when I am making new cables.
Gonna try to re-model the wireless receiver into something else *evil grin*

Lol.. a cheap earbud cable, it would probably be inferior to the sa6 stock cable. Usually they use cheap copper wire, so the soundstage would be smaller, with lesser dynamics etc, basically inferior.
If want to diy one, I rather wait till I get my hands on some suitable wires

I want Cardas (for example) to make a mid line cable for the CT6 /SA6.

P.s. I Emailed Whiplash Audio and Moon Audio about this.

Oh,cool, hope he'll find them. You're talking about Moon Audio ? Would be the first manufacturer to make cables for SA6.

Whiplash audio seems quite flexible in creating cables for other companies.. you guys wanna have a go ?
Though they would have to discuss with sleek audio first haha.
But I don't think the demand for it would be great =/

Why ?

Here are some of my reasons.

When I aim for SA, I was quite tempted by their wireless, which maybe the key feature as I am using iem for portable, on the go, which is a very big bonus.
But as I said in the other thread, it seems that my ears felt a drop in SQ when switch to wireless from wired..

Another thing is that I am stepping into desktop, so i believe I wouldn't bother much about upgrading the XX6, so the cables being detachable might turn out to be a con instead as I will most probably be not using the wireless due to point above.

All this was in comparison with the ACS T1.. with it having silicon body(which I *think* is better. But it cant have detachable cable is silicon is too weak to hold the female jack, so it is none-detachable, which is a plus in my case, i think =/) the cable quality seems like a notch higher than SA cables too haha..

But please, don't let me brainwash you guys, stick with SA strongly when you like them, i need more thinking done =(

Otherwise, the universal sa6 might be my best choice instead of customs.. who knows... ? lol

[edit]
but argh, getting iphone in the future man.. sleek customs got iphone cable but not acs T1.. =/
