I have been enjoying my Denon C700 for a couple moths now, but I get upgraditis every few months. My next step will either be the Sleek Audio SA 6 or a pair of Livewires.

I love upfront vocals. IMHO the Denons vocals excell. I love deep bass. It doesn't have to be loud, but deep and textured. The C700 hass planty of bass, but it isn't as textured as I want. I also like sparkling highs. The Denon's have proved to be a little splashy at times.

I definitely want a little more detail and sounstage then what the Denon's offer though.

I am using a Sony NWZ-A818.

Which would you suggest and why?

I suggested the Livewires. I have the Denon and Livewires, and I think the Livewires correct the faults of the Denon with sparkly but less splashy highs, and nice mids for vocals (up front) but also for projecting a bigger soundstage than the C700. Bass is right down the middle - not too much, not too little.

I would compare them as similar to my APS re-cabled RS-2 (and RS-1), they are that good.
