I've experienced exactly the same problem you have right now. Its most likely a fault/break in the cable leaving you with some options:
1) Determine where the break is using a voltmetre and repair it or remove that part of the cable provided it won't become too short, then resolder
2) Get a new cable and recable yourself
3) Get a new cable and get someone to recable it for you (cantsleep, [AK]Zip, Moon Audio etc)
I intially went for the first option and failed miserably because I have no soldering skills whatsoever
. If you know how to use a soldering iron and can work with cables then you do the recable yourself. I strongly suggest that you seek a replacement cable regardless of which option you take because the stock sa5000 cable is a pig to work with and there are more reliable cables.
