Well my SA-1000 have about 100 hour burn in - 6 hours. They still seem too bright so I will give them another 100 hour burn in.

The source that I am using for the burn in seems a little bright and I am hopeing that after a good burn in like 200-300 hour that the headphones will sound much better in my systrem when burn in is complete.

im not sure how much improvement you are going to get in terms of the brightness issue - those sony's can be very detailed to the point where it can be glaring for some, but good luck and hopefully some of the brightness issues get resolved somewhat.

I just find the SA-1000 way to bright for my taste. I am going back to the Senn. 590 with vision 1 cable. LOL
Oh who here is ok up there?

I think my brain is turning fuzzy from too much SA1000 treble too. Compared to the SA5000 this thing absolutely belts out the high end with scant respect for my poor ears.

Thankfully my new source does an awesome job of keeping it in control...

But you really should consider stopping somewhere in this mad-rat-race that you seem to be in. How about quitting for a while and trying something else for a change?

This is a new record...more than a dozen headphones bought and sold within a couple of months!!

So this brightness, is it super-harsh, or just a little too much or what. Obviously it is enough to get you to like the HD595 better.

I wouldn't say harsh but for sure to much high end. Very detailed with very good slam. I am going back to the 590 with vision 1 cable. My ears need a break from high end. LOL. Also I miss the great bass of the Senn. 590.

A good warning to prospective Sony purchasers...if you can't give your ears at least 1-2 weeks to get used to them, don't bother.

Has anyone been keeping tabs on the For Sale Forum? Looks like Lou's SA1000's will have a new home soon

I seriously dont think Lou is made for headphones... maybe he should invest his money into some decent speakers. This aint right.
